Terms & Conditions

1. Scope of Work:

  • The scope of work will be defined in a signed agreement between the client and the interior designer. This agreement will outline the specific services to be provided, including but not limited to space planning, color consultations, furniture selection, material sourcing, and project management. J Harrington House Design is an interior design consultation services providing design inspiration, planning, and recommendation. The client agrees to utilize suggestions as desired and is responsible for the implementation via appropriate contractors and necessary services to completed the desired project. 

2. Fees and Payment:

  • Fees for interior design services will be discussed and agreed upon before the commencement of any work. Payment terms will be outlined in the agreement.

  • A deposit may be required before work begins, with the balance due upon completion of the project or according to agreed-upon milestones.

  • Additional fees may apply for any changes or additional services requested by the client that are outside the scope of the original agreement.

3. Intellectual Property:

  • All design concepts, drawings, plans, and specifications created by the interior designer are the intellectual property of the designer unless otherwise agreed upon in writing.

  • The client may use these materials solely for the purpose of implementing the design as outlined in the agreement and may not reproduce or distribute them without the designer's permission.

4. Client Responsibilities:

  • The client agrees to provide accurate information regarding their requirements, preferences, and any relevant details about the project.

  • The client is responsible for obtaining any necessary permits or approvals required for the project.

  • The client agrees to provide access to the project site as needed for the interior designer to complete their work.

5. Project Timeline:

  • The interior designer will provide an estimated timeline for the completion of the project. This timeline may be subject to change due to factors such as unforeseen delays or changes requested by the client, delays in shipping, sourcing, or factors outside designer control. 

  • The client agrees to cooperate with the interior designer to ensure timely completion of the project.

6. Liability:

  • The interior designer will exercise reasonable care and skill in the performance of their services. However, the designer shall not be liable for any damages or losses arising from factors beyond their control, including but not limited to defects in materials or workmanship provided by third parties.

  • The client is responsible for ensuring that any contractors or vendors hired to implement the design meet their expectations and comply with all relevant laws and regulations.

7. Termination:

  • Either party may terminate the agreement with written notice if the other party breaches any of its terms and fails to remedy the breach within a reasonable time frame.

  • In the event of termination, the client will be responsible for payment for any services rendered up to the date of termination, as well as any expenses incurred by the interior designer in relation to the project.

8. Governing Law:

  • This agreement shall be governed by the laws of [insert jurisdiction], and any disputes arising under this agreement shall be resolved through arbitration in accordance with the rules of the [insert arbitration organization].

9. Entire Agreement:

  • This agreement constitutes the entire understanding between the parties with respect to the subject matter hereof and supersedes all prior agreements and understandings, whether written or oral.

10. Amendments:

  • Any amendments to this agreement must be made in writing and signed by both parties.

By signing below, the parties acknowledge that they have read and understood the terms and conditions outlined herein and agree to be bound by them.
